The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about the new term “social distancing,” designed to reduce the spread of the virus. Once-routine items such as going to work or buying groceries now require a new level of precaution, including staying at home as much as possible and - when you do need to run out - maintaining a six-foot distance from others.
But life - and banking - still need to happen.
Here are five ways to get your banking done with The First National Bank of Mount Dora (FNBMD) while following the six-foot social distancing guidelines.
You can use our online banking tools to take care of most of your routine banking transactions, such as checking balances, paying bills, and transferring money between accounts. It’s secure and convenient and only requires a computer with an internet connection.
Need help setting up your online account for the first time? This enrollment page will walk you through the process.
Have you tried the FNBMD mobile app yet? It is available for both iOS and Android and has all the capabilities of our online banking page. Depositing checks with the mobile app is as easy as snapping a photo of a check with your phone, once you endorse it. No trip to the bank is needed!
Have you tried sending money with Zelle® yet? It’s a fast, safe, and easy way to send money quickly to friends, family, and others you trust, right from the FNBMD mobile app. All you need is an email address or a U.S. mobile phone number. For more details visit the Zelle page on our website.
Of course, you are always welcome to call us with questions. Whether our lobbies are open or not, our staff is available Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
You can also call our automated service at 800-261-8072 for balances, transactions, and to make transfers or make a loan payment.
If you want to get out of the house but want to stay safe, consider our drive-thru service for transactions such as cashing or depositing checks or withdrawing funds. Drive-thru lanes are open at all four locations during normal business hours, so you can easily talk with one of our bank tellers from a safe distance.
If you have to get out to run essential errands or get groceries, you’ll likely pass by one of our ATMs as well, where you can withdraw or transfer money or get account balances. ATMs are available around the clock at all four of our branch locations and at Presto ATMs located in Publix (no service fees). There is also an FNBMD ATM on Alexander Street, near the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce building and the Railroad Depot.
As we turn the corner on the COVID-19 pandemic, our bank lobbies will open back up, and life will eventually return to normal. But once you try online banking, the FNBMD mobile app, our automated phone service, or an ATM transaction, you may find you like these self-serve digital options. Whatever your banking preference, now or in the future, we are here to provide the highest level of service, with excellent customer care.
